Shopify to WooCommerce Migration
Leave Shopify for self-hosted WooCommerce on WordPress. Full product, customer, and order migration. No more 2% transaction fees, full data ownership. Fixed-price, 7-business-day delivery.
What's included in the service
Every migration is a fixed-price, end-to-end engagement. Nothing half-finished, nothing left for you to chase down later.
Platforms we migrate to and from
If your source or target platform isn't listed, ask — we've done dozens of custom-stack migrations including legacy PHP, ASP.NET, and proprietary CMS.
How the migration runs, step by step
- 1
Why-you're-leaving-Shopify audit (24 hours)
We talk through your reasons for moving: transaction fees, theme limitations, app-stack cost, B2B constraints, or ownership of customer data. Different motivations point to different WooCommerce stack choices. Free quote returned within 24 hours.
- 2
WordPress + WooCommerce setup (Day 1-2)
WordPress provisioned on your chosen host (we recommend Kinsta, WP Engine, or Cloudways for performance). WooCommerce installed and configured. Theme installed and styled to match your Shopify storefront — or upgraded as part of scope.
- 3
Catalog migration (Day 2-4)
Shopify catalog exported via the Admin API. Products, variants (up to 100 per product), images, descriptions, weight, dimensions, tax classes — all migrated. Shopify metafields mapped to WooCommerce custom fields or ACF blocks.
- 4
Customers + orders (Day 4-5)
Customer accounts imported into WordPress users + WooCommerce customer records. Order history imported with line items, customer reference, dates, totals, payment status. Customers get a branded password-reset email on launch.
- 5
301 redirect map + SEO preservation (Day 5-6)
Every Shopify URL (/products/handle, /collections/handle, /pages/handle) mapped to the WooCommerce equivalent. Meta titles, descriptions, alt text, and schema preserved. Yoast or RankMath installed and configured.
- 6
Apps → Plugins (Day 6)
Shopify apps replaced with WooCommerce plugin equivalents: reviews (YITH Reviews, Customer Reviews for WooCommerce), subscriptions (WooCommerce Subscriptions), shipping (Advanced Shipping), wishlist, multi-currency. Each plugin tested before cutover.
- 7
Zero-downtime cutover (Day 7)
DNS TTL pre-lowered the day before. Final Shopify sync at cutover captures any new orders. DNS flipped. Shopify subscription kept active for 30 days as a fallback. Search Console resubmitted.

Frequently asked questions
Why move from Shopify to WooCommerce?+
Three common reasons: (1) Shopify's 2% transaction fee on every order when you don't use Shopify Payments adds up fast at scale; (2) total monthly cost of Shopify + apps often exceeds $300-$500/month vs ~$30/month of WordPress hosting; (3) you want full ownership of your data and store logic instead of leasing it from Shopify. WooCommerce is self-hosted: you own everything.
Will I lose Shopify-specific features like one-click checkout?+
Shopify's checkout speed is a genuine advantage. WooCommerce checkout used to be slower, but with current optimizations (WooPayments, CartFlows, FunnelKit, or a managed host like WP Engine) you can match or beat Shopify's checkout speed. We benchmark checkout performance against Shopify as part of the migration QA.
What about Shopify Apps I rely on?+
Most Shopify apps have direct WooCommerce equivalents: reviews (YITH, Customer Reviews), subscriptions (WooCommerce Subscriptions), shipping (Advanced Shipping, Table Rate Shipping), one-click upsell (CartFlows). We map your app stack during the audit and confirm equivalents before quoting. Truly custom Shopify apps we can rebuild as WordPress plugins if needed.
Will my Google rankings drop after moving to WooCommerce?+
Not when redirect mapping is done properly. We build a complete 301 map from every Shopify URL (/products/handle, /collections/...) to the WooCommerce equivalent. Meta tags, schema, and content migrate intact. Most stores see 1-3 position variance in the first month with full recovery by week 4. The bigger SEO upside: WooCommerce gives you fine-grained control over schema, internal linking, and content marketing that Shopify limits.
How will my customers log in after the switch?+
Customer accounts are migrated, but Shopify password hashes can't transfer. At launch, every customer receives a branded password-reset email. We write the email so it doesn't feel like a security issue: warm tone, clear explanation, one-click reset.
What WordPress host do you recommend?+
For most ecommerce stores: Kinsta or WP Engine for managed simplicity (~$35-100/month), Cloudways for performance + flexibility (~$20-60/month), or RunCloud + DigitalOcean for the most control at lowest cost (~$15-30/month). We make a recommendation during the audit based on your traffic, catalog size, and budget. Hosting is a separate cost from our migration fee.
Will my order history be preserved?+
Yes. Historical orders are imported into WooCommerce as completed orders with line items, customer reference, dates, totals, payment status, and shipping info. Your team can search by order number, customer email, or product. Live order processing happens in WooCommerce going forward.
How much does Shopify → WooCommerce migration cost?+
Standard stores (under 1,000 products): $4,997 fixed. Shopify Plus migrations: from $8,997. Enterprise migrations are scoped after the free audit. Quote is fixed price — no hourly billing surprises.
