How the migration runs, step by step

Audit and fixed quote (within 24 hours)
We go through why you're leaving Shopify: transaction fees, theme limits, app costs, B2B needs or control over your data. Each reason points to a different WooCommerce setup. You get a fixed-price quote within 24 hours.

WordPress and WooCommerce setup (Day 1-2)
WordPress goes onto the host you pick, with WooCommerce installed and configured. A WooCommerce-compatible theme is styled to match your Shopify storefront.

Catalog migration (Day 2-4)
We export the catalog through the Shopify Admin API: products, variants, images, descriptions, weights, dimensions and tax settings. Shopify metafields are mapped to WooCommerce custom fields or ACF fields.

Customers and orders (Day 4-5)
Customers are imported as WordPress users with WooCommerce customer records. Order history comes across with line items, customer, dates, totals and payment status. Shopify doesn't export passwords, so customers get a branded password-reset email at launch.

Redirect map and SEO checks (Day 5-6)
Every Shopify URL (/products/, /collections/ and your pages) gets a 301 redirect to its WooCommerce equivalent. Meta titles, descriptions and alt text carry over, and Yoast or Rank Math is set up.

Apps to plugins (Day 6)
Each Shopify app you still need is replaced with a WooCommerce plugin: reviews, shipping rates, wishlists or currency switching. Subscriptions are Enterprise work. Every plugin is tested before cutover.

Planned cutover (Day 7 on Professional)
We lower the DNS TTL the day before, run a final sync to catch new orders, then switch DNS. Keep your Shopify plan active for 30 days as a fallback. The new sitemap goes to Search Console.

Why move from Shopify to WooCommerce?+
Shopify adds a transaction fee, at a rate set by your plan, on orders paid through a provider other than Shopify Payments. Your monthly plan and app subscriptions add up too. WooCommerce is a free, open-source WordPress plugin, so the store runs on hosting you choose and the data stays yours. Hosting and any paid extensions are separate costs, and we compare the running costs with you in the free audit.
Will I lose Shopify's fast checkout?+
Shopify's checkout is one of its strengths. WooCommerce checkout speed depends on your hosting, theme and plugins, so we choose the stack with checkout in mind and test the full flow, from cart to payment to order email, before cutover.
What about the Shopify apps I rely on?+
The usual app types have WooCommerce plugins: reviews, subscriptions (WooCommerce Subscriptions, a paid extension from Woo), table-rate shipping, wishlists and upsells. We map your app list during the audit and confirm a replacement for each before quoting. A custom Shopify app can be rebuilt as a WordPress plugin on the Enterprise plan.
Will my Google rankings drop after moving to WooCommerce?+
Nobody can guarantee rankings. A complete redirect map removes the avoidable causes of loss: we 301 every Shopify URL (/products/..., /collections/...) to its WooCommerce equivalent, and meta tags, structured data and content move intact. On WordPress you also set your own URL structure, which Shopify fixes under /products/ and /collections/.
How will my customers log in after the switch?+
Customer accounts are migrated, but Shopify doesn't export passwords. At launch every customer gets a branded password-reset email. We write it so customers know it is part of the move, with a clear explanation and a one-click reset.
What WordPress host do you recommend?+
We recommend a host during the audit based on your traffic, catalog size and budget, from managed WordPress hosting to a cloud server you control. Hosting is billed by the host, separately from our migration fee.
Will my order history be preserved?+
Yes. Past orders are imported into WooCommerce as completed orders with line items, customer, dates, totals, payment status and shipping details. Your team can search by order number, customer email or product. New orders are processed in WooCommerce from launch.
