Webflow → WordPress + ACF Pro + Gutenberg

Webflow Multilingual (Weglot) → WPML / Polylang

How the migration runs, step by step

  1. 1

Webflow audit + CMS schema mapping (24-48 hours)

We inspect your Webflow project: page count, CMS Collection types and item counts, Symbols, custom code, interactions, and any apps in use. We deliver a schema mapping showing how each Webflow CMS Collection becomes a WordPress Custom Post Type with ACF Pro fields. Free quote in 24-48 hours.

  2. 2

    WordPress setup + CPT/ACF (Day 1-2)

WordPress installed on your chosen host. Custom Post Types created for each Webflow CMS Collection. ACF Pro field groups created to match Webflow's field structure (single line text, rich text, image, date, reference, etc.). Theme picked and styled to match Webflow design.

  3. 3

    Static page migration (Day 2-3)

Webflow static pages exported (via Webflow's HTML/CSS export) and rebuilt in WordPress using your chosen builder. Webflow Symbols become reusable WordPress blocks or template parts. Custom CSS extracted and integrated into the WordPress theme stylesheet.

  4. 4

    CMS Collection migration (Day 3-5)

Webflow CMS Collections exported via Webflow API. Each CMS item imported as a WordPress post with ACF custom fields populated. Reference fields (Webflow's relationship type) mapped to ACF Post Object or Relationship fields. CMS images uploaded to WordPress Media Library.

  5. 5

    Interactions + animations (Day 5-6)

Webflow's visual interactions don't transfer directly. We replicate them with framer-motion (React) or vanilla CSS keyframe animations. Common patterns (scroll-triggered fade-ins, parallax, hover states) are rebuilt; complex multi-step animations are simplified where the SEO/UX trade-off makes sense.

  6. 6

    301 redirect map + SEO (Day 6-7)

Webflow URLs (e.g. /blog/cms-folder/slug, /collection-name/item-slug) mapped to WordPress permalinks via complete 301 map. Webflow's SEO panel data (title, description, OG image) transferred to Yoast or RankMath. Sitemap regenerated.

  7. 7

    DNS cutover (Day 7)

Domain pointed to new WordPress host. If domain is registered through Webflow, transfer initiated separately (Webflow uses a partner registrar; transfer requires unlock + verification). Search Console resubmitted; conversion tracking validated.

Frequently asked questions

Why migrate from Webflow to WordPress?+

Three common reasons: (1) Webflow's monthly + CMS plan costs ($23-39/mo per site) scale poorly for content-heavy or multi-site businesses; (2) the editor experience for non-technical content authors is harder than WordPress (you have to learn Webflow's layout box model); (3) WordPress's plugin ecosystem covers integrations Webflow can't do natively (advanced SEO schema, marketing automation, complex membership flows, custom workflows). The trade-off: Webflow's visual control is unmatched — if design freedom is your top priority, WordPress + Elementor or Bricks is the closest equivalent.

Will my Webflow design transfer to WordPress?+

Static pages export from Webflow as HTML + CSS, which we rebuild in WordPress using Gutenberg block patterns or Elementor. The result matches the Webflow design closely. Webflow's visual interactions (animations) don't transfer directly — we replicate the important ones with framer-motion or CSS, simplifying complex multi-step animations.

What happens to my Webflow CMS Collections?+

Each Webflow CMS Collection becomes a WordPress Custom Post Type. Each CMS field becomes an ACF Pro field with matching type (text → text, rich text → wysiwyg, image → image, reference → post object, etc.). CMS items migrate as WordPress posts with all custom fields populated.

Can I keep my Webflow domain?+

Yes. Webflow uses partner registrars (Google Domains, GoDaddy, etc.). You initiate transfer-out from your Webflow domain settings; the registrar releases the domain after verification. Alternatively, you can keep the domain where it is and just point DNS at your WordPress host.

Will Google rankings drop after a Webflow → WordPress migration?+

Not when redirect mapping is done correctly. We build a complete 301 map from every Webflow URL pattern to its WordPress equivalent. SEO data (titles, descriptions, OG images) transfers from Webflow's SEO panels to Yoast or RankMath. Most sites see 1-3 position variance in the first month with full recovery by week 4. Many Webflow → WP migrations actually see SEO improvements due to Yoast/RankMath's superior schema and internal-linking tools.

What about Webflow Ecommerce?+

Webflow Ecommerce migrates to WooCommerce on the WordPress side. Products, variants, prices, and inventory transfer via Webflow's product export. Customer accounts and order history require Webflow API extraction. Our Webflow Ecommerce tier (custom-quoted) includes both.

Can you preserve my Webflow custom code?+

Custom CSS and JavaScript that lives in Webflow's <head> or before </body> tags is preserved. Inline scripts that depend on Webflow's specific DOM structure are reworked to match the WordPress markup. We document any code that needs adjustment during the audit.

What does the migration cost?+

Webflow Standard (up to 30 pages, 2 CMS Collections): $2,997 fixed. Webflow Pro (unlimited pages and CMS Collections): from $5,997. Webflow Ecommerce or Memberships migrations: custom-quoted after the free audit. Hosting and ACF Pro license (if purchased through us) are separate.
