How the migration runs, step by step

Free Wix audit (24 hours)
We count your pages, blog posts and products, list the Wix apps you use (Forms, Stores, Bookings, Members), check where your domain is registered and record your current URLs. Wix sites can't be exported to run on another host, so the audit also sets how each part gets copied. You get a fixed quote within 24 hours.

WordPress and theme setup (Day 1)
We install WordPress on your chosen host, then pick a theme and style it to match your Wix design. Astra and Kadence both have visual builders close to the Wix editor. We add the SEO, forms and page-builder plugins, plus a replacement for each Wix app you use.

Content copy (Day 1-3)
Wix can't export blog posts to other platforms, and its RSS feed holds only the 20 most recent posts, so we copy pages and posts from the live site. Products, orders and contacts come out of Wix as CSV files and go into WooCommerce. Images are downloaded and re-uploaded to the media library.

Layout rebuild (Day 3-4)
Each Wix layout is rebuilt in Elementor, Spectra or Gutenberg block patterns. The mobile version is tuned separately, using your desktop design as the reference.

Redirects, forms and tracking (Day 4)
Every Wix URL gets a 301 redirect to its new WordPress permalink, and titles and descriptions go into Yoast or Rank Math. Forms are rebuilt with email notifications (and your CRM, if you use one). Analytics, Search Console and cookie consent are set up again.

DNS cutover (Day 5, or Day 7 on Professional)
We point your domain at the WordPress host and submit the new sitemap in Search Console. If you want the domain moved off Wix too, we handle the transfer: Wix says it usually takes up to 7 days and is blocked for 60 days after a purchase or a contact-details change. Business email needs its MX records added again after a transfer.

Why is migrating from Wix harder than other migrations?+
Wix runs every site on its own servers and offers no way to export one to another host. Its help center also says blog posts can't be exported to other platforms, and the blog RSS feed only shows the 20 most recent posts. Store products, orders and contacts do export as CSV files, so the store side is the easier part. Pages and layouts are copied from the live site and rebuilt in WordPress.
Will my Wix design look the same in WordPress?+
We rebuild your Wix layouts in Elementor, Spectra or Gutenberg block patterns and match the desktop design closely. Mobile is rebuilt separately, using your desktop design as the reference. If you want a new design as part of the move, that's our Website Redesign service.
Can I keep my Wix domain?+
Yes. The quickest route is to leave it registered with Wix and point its DNS at the new host. To move the registration as well, you unlock the domain in Wix and transfer it to a new registrar. Wix says a transfer usually takes up to 7 days, and a domain can't be transferred within 60 days of purchase or of a change to its contact details. Once the domain leaves Wix, your Wix site is disconnected and business email needs its MX records added again.
Will my Wix Stores products transfer?+
Yes. Wix Stores exports physical products with their data to CSV, up to 5,000 rows per file, and orders and contacts export to CSV as well. We import all of it into WooCommerce. Digital products can't be exported from Wix, so we recreate those by hand. Store migrations are on the Professional plan ($299).
What about my Wix blog SEO?+
Post titles, slugs, categories, tags, meta titles and meta descriptions all move across. WordPress lets you pick your own permalink structure, and every old blog URL gets a 301 redirect to its new address.
Will my Google rankings drop after leaving Wix?+
Nobody can guarantee rankings after a migration. A complete 301 redirect map, the same content and metadata, and a new sitemap in Search Console remove the avoidable causes of loss. Google says permanent redirects don't lose PageRank and that rankings can move around while it recrawls the site, so we watch Search Console after launch and fix anything that turns up.
What WordPress host should I pick?+
We recommend a host during the audit, based on your traffic and budget: Cloudways if you want flexibility, Kinsta if you want fully managed hosting. You pay the host directly; hosting isn't part of our fee.
